Thursday, 17 April 2014

I slept well last night but again got up to late to go out for a walk.

I taught 8 units of Berlitz lessons today.

For lunch we went to an Asian kitchen at Ice Park (which shall remain nameless here for reasons you will see shortly). It's a kosher place, so, of course, they can only serve food that is kosher for Pesach. Now you might THINK that this would have little effect on an Asian-style eatery, but it had a lot more than you could imagine. I could get neither wasabi nor ginger with my sushi (why???), the sushi itself seemed less tasty (I don't know exactly why), and the rice-based dish David wanted to order wasn't available at all. This is particularly annoying to us, since we don't observe kosher for Pesach rules at all, even at home. Here's the kicker, though: on each table sat a little typical container of soy sauce, the third ingredient of which (clearly printed in English!) was -- wheat (WTF?!?). Kosher l'Pesach?!? NOT!
