Shabbat, 17 September 2016

I slept well at first last night but then was awake for quite some time in the wee hours and unable to get back to sleep. Of course, when it was almost time to get up and go walking, I was suddenly tired and sleepy, so I slept a little more. Then, I only went out for a walk for about 15 minutes. I did take a couple of nice pictures, though.

I spent most of the day being quite lazy and relaxing. I even took a couple of short naps in my chair.

I had my usual eggs and rice, with added garlic powder and seeds for lunch. I also had a nice salad.

In the late afternoon, I talked with David's sister and her husband in Ohio.

I really enjoyed listening to Brahms' first symphony this evening, a piece I had not listened to in some time. I also paid a bit more attention than in the past, I think, and was amazed at the masterful way he weaves the various themes and instruments together. This is truly a masterpiece!

In the evening, a little after the sun had disappeared, I went out for a walk for about 50 minutes. I met a couple of cats near the corner of Sheshet HaYamim and Yotam who are my friends. I think the bigger one, who is really quite a beautiful and unusual light-colored cat, is the mother, and the small one, a nice tabby, is her baby. Today's pictures is of the mother:
I walked a total of 4.22 kilometers (that's 1/10 of a marathon, LOL) today.
