I slept well again last night and also got up quite early this morning.
I had agreed to meet with David at 10:00 so that we could respond to the letter we received late yesterday from the rep of the Russian billionaire. I got out early enough to walk a more circuitous route to get there. I took a number of pictures along the way. There were clouds moving across the sky that created interesting, constantly changing patterns of light and dark on the nearby mountains, so several of my pictures were of that. One of the best ones is today's pic of the day:
When I arrived at David's, he basically had already decided that he probably would not be able to organize the oligarch's vacation because of the highly restricted terms his rep was insisting on. So, we sat down together, and he responded, with my help, to the issues that she had raised and, essentially, told her to do it herself. It's quite unlikely now that he'll be doing the trip, and I think that's the smartest decision for him because it was becoming quite clear that he would LOSE money rather than make it with the conditions she was insisting on.
By a little after noon, I started my walk back home, again going by a roundabout route, though less so than on the way down.
I had my usual eggs and rice for lunch. I also had a salad consisting of a tomato, a cucumber, and half of a large yellow bell pepper, with 1000-island dressing.
I was then lazy for much of the afternoon, watching sitcoms on TV. In the evening, I went to Fay's book exchange, which was an enjoyable occasion, as always.
I walked a total of 5.3 kilometers today.
