Friday, 17 July 2015

I again slept in too late and didn't get out for a morning walk. I did, however, walk down to recycle cardboard and buy challah for Shabbat.

I taught 3 units of Berlitz lesson today: 9:00-9:45 and 10:30-12:00.

I ate my traditional Friday lunch at Il Pentolino today.

In the afternoon, I just relaxed and tried to envision new ways of using my skills to increase my income. Mostly, I only went down blind alleys today, but I think the process will take time.

As the sunlight was about to fade from our beautiful, hot valley, I lit candles, sipped sweet red wine, and ate a bit of challah to welcome Shabbat.

To everything there is a season, and a time for everything under heaven:
a time to be born and a time to die
a time to plant and a time to uproot what was planted
a time to kill and a time to heal
a time to break and a time to build
a time to weep and a time to laugh
a time of eulogy and a time of dance
a time to throw stones and a time to gather stones
a time to embrace and a time to shun embraces
a time to seek and a time to lose
a time to keep and a time to discard
a time to rend and a time to sew
a time to be silent and a time to speak
a time to love and a time to hate
a time of war and a time of peace

[Ecclesiastes 3:1-8]
