I got up a little too late to go out for a regular walk this morning, but I did have time to go down and recycle the cardboard and buy challah before breakfast.
I had only one student today (for 2 units): 9:00-10:30.
We ate our traditional Friday lunch at Il Pentolino today.
We lit candles, drank a bit of sweet wine, and ate challah to welcome the Shabbat this evening.
I began working on this week's project for my class, Introduction to Programming for Musicians and Digital Artists. I got the code written that will enable the computer to produce a random melody using the given scale and observing certain constraints. I tested it, and it seems to generate reasonably interesting melodies. Now I'm getting ready to write code that will pick chords to go with the melody generated, chords that will fit with the melody notes and that will follow constrained chord progressions. Hopefully, it will all sound good when I get it together!
