I got up at about the right time this morning, but I felt tired and did a rather lackluster exercise routine. Still, the important thing was that I got out and did something. The quiet of Yom Kippur morning certainly was lovely.
Not much to report about today. With everything closed and the roads basically off-limits to cars, we just stayed home and did very little. I did read quite a few news articles of all sorts. It was not as hot as a month ago but still too hot to go out for a walk in the middle of the day. We did go out again this evening, though, and again we enjoyed a couple of long sitting sessions on the green strip benches watching the families and kids enjoying "bicycle day". We came back home about the time guys with kippot were walking by, presumably on their way home for Neilah prayers (the final service of Yom Kippur).
The prayers and services in the synagogue on Yom Kippur can sometimes seem as though they'll never end, but sitting at home makes the day even MORE interminable. Still, we did make it through, and a new year of possibilities lies ahead of us!
