This morning, instead of my usual walk, I worked on getting the recyclables out to their respective places. First, I took the plastic bottles and containers, together with the regular trash. Then I came back and took the cardboard (pizza boxes and LOTS of soda 6-pack boxes) down to the bin by the "Like" store. After that, I stopped at the bakery, which was just opening (around 7 a.m.), and got challah for Shabbat, followed by a stop at the candy store.
I was scheduled to teach 4 units of Berlitz lessons today (9:00-10:30 and 10:30-12:00), but the second class (2 units) was a late cancellation. I was actually informed last evening about it.
We had our now-traditional Friday lunch at Il Pentolino.
In the late afternoon, we took a drive up highway 12 and back, turning around a kilometer or 2 before the northern checkpoint.
In the evening, we lit candles, drank wine, and ate challah to bring in the Shabbat bride.
