Sunday, 14 July 2013 "Allons enfants de la patrie, le jour de gloire ..."

I got up a little late this morning, but I still took the time to walk to the highway 12 kikar and back and to do my stretches.

This morning we went to the pet store to get more cat food and cat litter, and then we continued to Shufersal to do the weekly grocery shopping. David was feeling better today and accompanied me to both places.

Today we ate lunch at Café Greg. We split an omelet sandwich.

In the afternoon, we drove up to Har Khizkiyahu ("Mount Hezekiah"), which is a spot on the Egyptian border with a great view of Aqaba, Jordan, and the end of the gulf. We actually couldn't go quite to the peak because it is right on the border, and no one is allowed to go that close to the new fence. Instead, we parked just off the highway on the short road that connects it to the fence road (for military use only) and enjoyed the view.

When we came back to Eilat, we went to Ice Park for frozen yogurt and then continued to Mercaz Big to do a little shopping. I got myself a couple more Hebrew books to read (both are actually translations of English books; one is the biography of Steve Jobs).
