Friday, 22 July 2016

I got up early this morning and took a walk around the big loop. As usual, I took some pictures along the way, including today's pic of the day, which shows distant Saudi mountains partly framed by the roof of a synagogue (how many places could you get a picture like that?!):

Before returning home, I stopped briefly at the local bakery to buy challah for Shabbat.

I taught only 2 units of Berlitz lesson today: 9:30-11:00. Then I did the weekly chores (except washing the dishes, which I again managed to forget -- oy!).

I had a salad and cheese sandwiches, plus a few cookies, for lunch at home today.

In the afternoon, I completed week 4 of my classification class.

In the evening, as the light was about to fade from our lovely valley, I lit 2 candles, drank a little sweet red wine, and ate some challah to welcome another Shabbat. I'm adding a bonus picture that I received from a friend, in honor of Shabbat:
Here's a translation of the words in the pic:
A Shabbat full of health, happiness, love, satisfaction and joy, joyful occasions, and good news.

I walked a total of 7.65 kilometers today.

In honor of yesterday's largest-ever gay pride march in Jerusalem:
-And you will show love to your neighbor as yourself -- ואהבת לרעך כמוך
