On my way back, I stopped, as always, at the local bakery to buy a couple of small challot for Shabbat.
Before my class today, I did the weekly household chores.
I taught only one 2-unit Berlitz lesson today: 11:30-1:00.
I had 3 beets, a cucumber, a tomato, and 2 cheese sandwiches (with mayo and Dijon mustard on whole-wheat bread) for lunch at home today. Delicious and nutritious!
In the afternoon, I was mostly fairly lazy, but I did get some important touch-up work done on my orchestral setting of Avinu Malkenu.
In the evening, I lit candles, drank a little sweet red wine, and ate challah to welcome another Shabbat.
I walked a total of 7.35 kilometers today.
I leave you today with Hannah Senesh's beautiful poem, "Walk to Caesarea", a musical setting of which will be included on my upcoming album of orchestral music:
אלי, אלי
שלא ייגמר לעולם
החול והים
רישרוש של המיים
ברק השמיים
תפילת האדם
My God, my God
May these things never end:
The sand and the sea,
The rush of the waters,
The crash of the heavens,
The prayer of the human.
