I took today's pic of the day yesterday evening. It shows a gorgeous and affectionate calico cat sitting on Hannah's lap:
We got up quite early this morning and got checked out. Before leaving Arad, though, we stopped at an interesting makolet (mini-market), where we sat and drank coffee and soda, and at a gas station to visit the restrooms. Then we headed down toward the Dead Sea.
We didn't take time to actually visit anything at the Dead Sea; we just drove by. Then we continued down the Arava, with several stops along the way.
When we got to highway 40, though, we turned up it and then took highway 12 into Eilat, avoiding any possible traffic jams, which are quite likely when entering the city on highway 90.
Our first stop back in town was my place. Then, after resting a bit, we drove down to the mall and ate a lovely lunch at Café Café there. Then we took Hannah and her things to her place, after which I drove down to return the car.
I took a bus back home, but I got a call from the car rental company. The front license plate was missing from the car, which we had actually noticed on Tuesday morning. They guy said that, because it was lost during the time I had the car, I had to get a police report and bring it to them before they could finalize the return of the car.
So, I took another bus into town and walked to the police department. When I explained, in clear Hebrew, what had happened, the officer on duty said that it was really the car rental company who was supposed to do it. Nevertheless, he quickly and efficiently wrote the report. I can't take it to the company until tomorrow, because they were already closed today. I was so proud of myself, though, for my fluent and quite accurate use of Hebrew at the police department!
I walked a total of 4.7 kilometers today.
