I got up very early this morning and took a walk on part of the promenade not far away. It was chilly out but nice for walking.
Hannah decided to just stay in or near our hotel complex today, since it's so lovely. So I took the opportunity to drive to the far reaches of the Golan, to areas where I couldn't really take her because we would get too far from rest areas.
A friend in Eilat had an interesting request for me. She's originally from India and has many devoutly Catholic friends there (even though she's Jewish herself). They consider water from the Jordan River or the Kinneret (the Sea of Galilee to them) to be holy water, and they wanted her to send them some. Of course, one can buy vials of it in some shops for tourists, but it's very expensive. So she asked me to collect some directly from the lake, and that's what I did during my trip today. Even though I was able to park not far from the water, it was very hot down there since it's below sea level, and the sun was very intense with no shade. By the time I had collected a couple of liters (without getting even my feet wet) I was thoroughly overheated. But I soon cooled off my in the air-conditioned car and was glad that I had accomplished my mission.
I visited Karmiel and drove around a little there, just to see what had changed in the years since I'd been up in the north. Then I headed back up to Tsfat.
After resting for a while in the room, Hannah and I headed down to Rosh Pinna for a light supper at Café Café there.
I'll shortly post some of the pictures I took today to Facebook.
I walked a total of 6.2 kilometers today.
