I actually hadn't planned on going for an early-morning walk today, but after having slept well, woken up slowly, and gotten up a bit late, I decided that I wanted to go out anyway. And it was great!
I followed my new Shabbat tradition this morning of watching BCC's Friday night service from the night before. I was particularly blessed by Tamara Kline's insightful drash. It's also meaningful for me to say Kaddish for David when they say it.
Today, I loaded a giant trash bag twice with clothes in bad repair, underwear, old sheets, and old blankets and took them to a clothing and textile recycling receptacle about 4 short blocks from here.
I ate vegan shnitzel, corn on the cob, and a tomato for lunch at home today.
After lunch I walked way down next to one of the lots near the port where they park new cars before they're trucked north. Then I walked back up via Nakhal Garof, which is just southwest of town. It was a great walk, with most of the walk back up in the shade because of the high southwestern wall of the canyon.
In the early evening, I enjoyed talking with Joyce, David's sister in Columbus, Ohio.
I walked a total of nearly ten and a half kilometers today.
