Sunday, 31 January 2016

The first order of business this morning was to get my appointment arranged for an ultrasound transrectal exam of the prostate plus a biopsy. So, first I called the Assuta Hospital in Tel Aviv and got the appointment set for 10 February. Then I called Arkia Airlines to arrange the flights up and back (which will be on Maccabi's account). I still have to send some info about the flights to the Maccabi office, and I also have to set up an appointment with my doctor to get a prescription for the antibiotics that I have to start before the procedure and for the enema I have to take (yuck!).

In the late morning, I walked up to the outdoor gym and worked out for a while, then walked home via a circuitous route similar to the one I walked last night.

For lunch, I had a big salad with a tomato added, and 2 hard-boiled eggs.

In the afternoon, I walked up Nakhal Shakhamon, then along the pipeline road, and then on mountain bike trails into the hills. I ended up along a ridge with a spectacular view of Eilat, Aqaba, and the Gulf. There's even an Israeli flag and a picnic table there! After exploring a few other bike trails in the area, I returned back home through the nakhal. Naturally, I took a lot of beautiful photographs (I posted the best ones on Facebook).

In the evening, I made a quick trip to the local market to replenish my supplies. It's so wonderful to live such a short walk from a market (TWO of them, in fact!).

I walked a total of 11.57 kilometers today.
