Shabbat, 17 December 2016

I got up fairly early this morning but only went out briefly with Pascal.

In the morning, I talked with David in Tel Aviv. This time, we decided to use video chat.

I had a salad and my usual eggs and rice for lunch.

After lunch, I set out on my walk. I walked down to the public beach next to the mall and just sat there on one of the nice "beds", enjoying the view of the sea. Quite a few people were out swimming in the water. There was a cool breeze, but the sun was warm, and I was comfortable in a short-sleeve thin t-shirt.

Next, I walked south to the point where Nakhal Shakhamon "flows" into the sea (on the rare occasions that it actually flows). I walked up the nakhal some distance and then followed a trail over to an adjacent canyon to the south. All of this is in the undeveloped area between the Shakhamon neighborhood and the sea. From there, I meandered back up to my apartment.

I took lots of pictures on my walk. Today's pic of the day is of some wildflowers in the canyon (I saw quite a few of these in the same area):

On the way back, I talked briefly with Joyce and her husband in Ohio. They were getting ready to head out to a family dinner.

When I got back home, I uploaded many of the pics I had taken to Facebook. Then I had another video chat with David in Tel Aviv.

I walked a total of 7 kilometers today.
