I woke up and got up quite early again this morning. I also ate breakfast a bit early.
I set out just before 9:00 a.m. for the hospital to see if I could get the results of my CT scan (2 weeks ago) but they were still not available.
Then I walked over to the weekly English speakers' meeting at WIZO. Today, we had a mini Purim celebration, and we also celebrated the 91st birthday of one of our members, Gladys, a lovely American woman who has been living in Eilat for many years now.
After the WIZO meeting, I walked down to the main Maccabi office for my appointment with the urologist. There is now no doubt that I have a cancerous tumor in my prostate gland; the only remaining question is what the treatment should be. He is referring me to specialists at another hospital in Tel Aviv who specialize in precisely this problem. They will be the ones to decide if I should undergo surgery or radiation treatment (which are the 2 possibilities). So, tomorrow or the next day, I'll try to get in to the Maccabi office to find out how to set up the appointment there, and then I can arrange everything.
Following the appointment, I walked on over to Mercaz Big again. I had bought new sunglasses (to go over my regular glasses) at the SuperPharm there yesterday, but they hadn't had an appropriate case to give me for them, which is included. Today, they had called me to let me know it was available, so I went and picked it up. Then I had falafel for lunch at the shwarma/falafel place there.
Since I was already in that area, I walked up the street to the Breishit health food store and bought two containers of the carob/peanut spread that they often sell there, and which I LOVE.
Then I headed on home, stopping 2 or 3 times to rest on the way.
I taught only 4 units of Berlitz lessons today: 4:00-5:30 and 7:00-8:30, although the second 2-unit lesson turned out to be a no-show.
I walked a total of 9.93 kilometers today.
