I slept well last night and got up reasonably early this morning.
After breakfast, I had some time to work a little more on yesterday's Fugue of the Day, which I had only barely started last night.
I was scheduled to teach 10 units of Berlitz lessons today, but one 2-unit lesson was a no-show (by a student who is ALWAY a no-show!): 9:00-10:30, 11:00-12:30, 3:00-4:30, 5:00-6:30 (the no-show), and 7:00-8:30.
After my morning lessons, I resumed work on the fugue and continued working as I ate lunch. I successfully finished it before my 3:00 lesson. Its subject is the beginning of "Somewhere over the Rainbow", and I think it turned out quite nice. You can listen for yourself here.
I had a large salad, cheese slices in tortillas (slightly toasted), and 4 small cookies for lunch.
Since I knew my 5:00 student would not show up, I decided to work on TODAY's Fugue of the Day. I was able to find out quite a bit about the "Game of Thrones" theme and even a number of scores for various instruments, so it was easy to take the beginning of it as my subject. The fugue came together quickly; I used 4 percussive synthesizer instruments. You can listen to it here.
I never even stepped outside my apartment today, which is probably a shame since I'm sure it was a lovely day out there.
