Shabbat, 27 January 2018

I slept somewhat in segments last night but still quite well, and I got up reasonably early.

I had started working on today's fugue a little last night, and I continued this morning after breakfast, taking a break to talk with David in Tel Aviv for a while.

Then I walked over to Hannah's for our weekly Torah study. Along the way, I took a couple of pictures of pretty yellow flowers. One of them is today's pic of the day:

After we finished reading and discussing this week's Torah portion, we walked down to the Gulf Restaurant and enjoyed a really nice lunch there.

After walking back to Hannah's (and stopping to rest a couple of times along the way) and relaxing there for a while, I walked back home.

I talked for a few minutes with Joyce. She's out of the hospital and back in the rest home, working on building her strength and stability so that she can go back home. She sounded in pretty good spirits.

Then I went back to work on my Fugue of the Day. It's subject is the refrain of a popular setting of the first few lines of a Shabbat psalm, "Mizmor Shir". You can listen to the results here.

I walked a total of 8 kilometers today.
