Tuesday, 9 January 2018

I went to bed early last night and got up early this morning. I also ate breakfast early and then started to work on my fugue for today.

I walked to WIZO this morning and took today's pic of the day along the way, another shot of the beautiful little white flowers:

Sharona gave a very nice presentation at WIZO this music, bringing together pop songs featuring various countries around the world. Everybody obviously enjoyed it (me too!).

After WIZO, I walked down to MaccabiPharm to get more Optalgin (anti-pain medicine), and then I walked up to Hannah's. A little later, she and I walked together up to my place, where we chatted and I made us some nice salads for lunch.

I taught 5 units of Berlitz lessons today: 3:30-5:00, 5:00-6:30, and 7:45-8:30.

I imagined the subject for today's Fugue of the Day while lying in bed, and it works really well. It does make for a rather intense piece, though, with lots of diminished seventh chords. A cool feature (that I did NOT think about when making it up) is that it sounds great when turned upside down. Even better, the subject and its upside down version work together, which happens at the very end. You can hear the final result here.

I walked a total of 4.4 kilometers today.
