I got up early and walked down to the airport to catch the first flight to Tel Aviv. I thought the flight was at 6:40, as before, so I was surprised to hear my name over the PA. I was in the middle of eating breakfast while waiting. So, I quickly grabbed my things and finished my breakfast during the flight, which actually left at 6:15. Later, I checked, and I had even written 6:15 in my calendar as the flight time. Obviously, I had not paid much attention!
I arrived in Tel Aviv very early. Even after taking two different buses to the hospital I arrived more than 2 hours before my 10:30 appointment. A doctor, though, saw me early and started the process by installing an IV port in my left hand and taking several vials of blood for tests. Later, I had a CT scan and saw yet another doctor.
After that, I had a lovely lunch at the adjacent mall and returned to the hospital to be admitted at 4:00.
Tomorrow morning, I’ll have a procedure in my heart, done via an arterial probe inserted near the groin, in which they’ll zap the cells in my heart that are causing occasional electrical irregularities, called atrial fibrillation. This has a good chance of ending the problem for good.
I walked a total of 6.6 kilometers today.
