I got up late this morning since I was out a bit late last night.
I had a little trouble getting myself motivated, but I managed to finish week 3 of my regression class. I ran into some frustrating technical problems with the software, but I was eventually able to work around them and felt very successful in the end.
I had vegetarian "breast" sandwiches with tomato and barbecue sauce, plus 4 small cookies for dessert, for lunch at home.
I talked to David's sister in Ohio in the late afternoon.
In the evening, I took a long walk down the hill, eventually walking on the North Beach. I took quite a few pictures, and I plan to post more of them on Facebook tomorrow. Today's pic of the day is this photo showing something that I think is called "Sdom apples", together with flowers at the same time on the same plant. They're about the size of grapefruits, but they're actually almost completely EMPTY inside, making them very light-weight. I don't know if there's even anything edible in them at all:
At about 8:30, I met some friends at 9 Beach, where we sat around half the night chatting, drinking a bit (I had a piña colada, something I've hadn't had in MANY years), and celebrating Deborah's birthday. She's the one who graciously hosted me at her seder this year. We sat on the beach only a few meters from the water, with a view all the way to Hakl, Saudi Arabia, and the weather was absolutely perfect out. Such an enjoyable evening!
I walked a total of a little over 6 kilometers today.
