I woke up early this morning and managed to pull myself out for a walk. I was only mildly enthusiastic about it. I decided, for no particular reason, to walk over to HaSporta'im Road, coming out there just below the gas station. Then I walked up to Harim. As I was walking along, I noticed that the view of Har Shlomo was quite nice, but it would be better the other side of the road without the power lines in the line-of-sight. So I crossed over. It was at the point where there's a dirt road going into the desert, and there was a mound nearby which promised an even better angle. When I got up on the mound, I got the picture I wanted, but I also noticed that the sun was close to rising, so I took soon photos in that direction, as well.
Then I decided it would be fun to walk up the dirt road, which I had never followed any distance before. Now I was beginning to really enjoy my walk. It got even more fun as I continued, because I found that I could keep taking more and more pictures of the sun rising from behind LOTS of different hills, some quite close, and others further away. This continued even when I turned around and started back down the road. In fact, I even took some photos of the sun behind a building and behind a couple of palm trees when I got near home. In all, I got more than 30 photographs of the rising sun from at least 15 or 20 different locations, all in the same morning. It was so much fun! It was so serendipitous that I just happened to be in exactly the right places and exactly the right times. So, of course, today's pic of the day will be one of these sunrise pics:
The rest of the morning, I was fairly lazy, although I did spend some time cropping pictures and posting them to Facebook.
For lunch, I had a big salad and weenies wrapped in tortillas.
In the afternoon, I did the second programming assignment for week 4 of my regression class and finally managed to pass the quiz based on it. The final error that I had to weed out involved a place in a subroutine I had written where I had accidentally type the number "1" instead of the letter "i". It's lucky that I managed to find that one before giving up!
In the evening, I walked down to Fay's house to join our weekly play reading group. This week we started reading "Spoon River Anthology", and it's really good. I think all of us had a good time reading it.
I walked a total of 6.65 kilometers today.
