Friday, 12 February 2016

I slept well except for a fair amount of tossing and turning due to some discomfort in my hips or lower back (nothing serious, I'm sure!). Still, I felt rested and got up quite early. Before breakfast, I went up to the bakery and bought challah, hamantashen, and other cookies.

I taught only 4 units of Berlitz lessons today: 10:00-11:30 and 12:00-1:30. I also did all the weekly house-cleaning in the morning.

For lunch, I ate 2 veggie burger and cheese sandwiches.

After lunch, I went out for a walk around the city, including some areas I hadn't ever walked in before.

In the evening, I lit candles, drank a bit of sweet red wine, and ate some challah (and even relented and gave a bit of challah to Pascal!) to welcome the Shabbat queen.

I walked a total of 6.63 kilometers today.

In honor of this week's big news from astrophysics, the recent successful verification of gravitational waves, a breakthrough in verifying Einstein's theories, I leave you with this line from the Ma'ariv (evening) prayers:
ומסדר את-הכוכבים במשמרםתיהם ברקיע כרצונו
And arranges the stars in their watches in the firmament according to the divine will.

Shabbat Shalom to everyone ! שבת שלום לכולם
