Shabbat, 13 February 2016

I had a dream last night about someone playing from Bach's Well-Tempered Clavier, and then somehow I got to thinking about tuning and its complexities, which kept me awake for a bit. Overall, though, I got good sleep, but I did get up a bit later than usual.

I watched the BCC service from last night, as has been my regular custom in recent months, and found myself in a particularly emotional state. It wasn't sadness or nostalgia -- it was more like a deep feeling of connectedness with reality, and of gratitude. Thanks, Lisa and Juval!

Before lunch, I walked up to the outdoor gym, worked out a little there, and then took a leisurely walk in Canada Gardens, with lots of resting and enjoying the beautiful day.

I had beans and (vegetarian) weenies plus whole-wheat crackers for lunch at home today.

After lunch, I took another slow but longer walk around town, trying to stay mostly in the shade, and again enjoying a number of restful stops. Again today, the weather was really great, although a bit warmer. In the next few days, it's expected to get downright hot.

At 5:00, I had my usual Skype conversation with David's sister, Joyce, and found out that she's STILL hospitalized. She's feeling better, though. She won't be released until at least Tuesday because she has an important test scheduled for Monday.

In the evening, I made shopping trips to both the local markets. In particular, I needed to stock up on fresh fruits and vegetables.

I've taken over the job of communications secretary for our local WIZO English speakers' group. The biggest, most regular part of this job is sending out the weekly e-mail reminders about our Tuesday morning meetings. So I worked on that this evening and sent out the announcement about next Tuesday's meeting.

I walked a total of 7.15 kilometers today.
