I slept soundly but a little bit "hard" last night and woke up with a headache. It seemed like a dehydration headache, but it didn't go away when I drank a BIG glass of water, so I eventually took an Optalgin, which did the trick. I also took it very easy all morning, including eating breakfast late, a nap in my chair, and a nice long conversation with David in Tel Aviv.
At noon, I started a load of clothes going in the washing machine, and then I set out on a long walk. We had an essentially complete overcast today, which is quite unusual here, but it was warm. So it was the perfect day to walk way up highway 12, in the desert hills all the way to Nakhal Shlomo, which is what I did. If it had been sunny, I would have worried about getting overheated and, more importantly, about sunburn, but today was perfect for it. I was comfortable walking in a t-shirt, short pants, and flip-flops.
There were lots of wildflowers blooming along both sides of the road. Nearly all of them, though, were very small and not abundant enough to be noticed by people speeding by in vehicles. I took plenty of time, however, to pay attention to them, and I photographed a pretty good sampling, as well. I have already posted some of my best shots publicly on Facebook. Today's pic of the day is one of my favorites:
When I got back from my walk, I boiled 6 eggs, eventually eating 3 of them, plus a salad and some baklava, for lunch (or, really, more like supper). But I didn't eat until after talking for some time with Joyce and her husband in Ohio via Skype.
In the evening, I just relaxed at home.
I walked a total of 9.9 kilometers today, and quite a bit of it was uphill, too.
