I went to bed fairly early last night but still got up quite late this morning. I guess I just needed the sleep. At any rate, I set off after breakfast at about 8:00 and walked to Maccabi downtown for my weekly blood draw. Afterwards, I walked leisurely over to the Soleil Boutique Hotel for the monthly WIZO breakfast there. On my way, I also browsed one of the shops along HaTmarim that sells all kinds of small things for the house. I almost never buy anything (and I didn't today, either), but I just enjoy seeing all the cool things they carry, and I make mental notes about a few that I might need some time.
We had fewer attendees than usual at the breakfast this month. Some people who had planned to come didn't make it because they were sick, and one woman's mother had died suddenly in Tel Aviv. But those of us who made it had a nice time anyway, and I stuffed myself even more than usual with all the delicious food.
From there, I walked back up to the pet store and got a nice adult mouse for Goldfinger. I walked home by a somewhat circuitous route and rested several times. I felt more tired by then, partly because I had already walked so far, partly because it was uphill, and partly because I had eaten so much. In any case, I made it home and rested for some time before going out again.
In the afternoon, I did some grocery shopping at the Elimelech Supermarket and then made a separate trip up to the nearby bakery to buy a cake for our play-reading group this evening (since it was my turn to bring refreshments). On my way up, I stopped on the median of my street, just across from my gate, and took today's pic of the day:
In the evening, I enjoyed our group as always. We read about half of "The Little Foxes".
I walked a total of 7.9 kilometers today.
