Thursday, 30 March 2017

I slept quite well last night and got up early this morning.

I was scheduled to teach 7 units of Berlitz lessons today but was informed first thing in the morning that one 2-unit lesson was a late cancellation: 9:30-11:45, 4:00-5:30 (the late cancellation), and 5:30-7:00.

After my morning lesson, I headed right down to David's house to work on the billionaire project. We answered several e-mails, but the most difficult one was the last. This was an answer to an e-mail that the oligarch's rep in Moscow sent, in which she was proposing very large cuts to the plan that David was offering. He's not at all sure that the billionaire is even aware yet of what she's doing, but, in any case, it's quite unacceptable. Therefore, we had to write a long letter explaining exactly why her cuts would ruin the trip, or at least make it of a seriously degraded quality compared to what he is accustomed to. So, now we'll just have to see what happens. I was glad for the late cancellation of my 4:00 lesson because it gave me plenty of time to help David with this difficult response.

On my walk back, I snapped some pictures across the valley showing the play of light and shadows of clouds on the Jordanian mountains. Today's pic of the day is one of them:

After my last lesson, I ate lunch. I was a little hungry off and on towards evening, but not constantly, even though I hadn't eaten anything since a rather early breakfast. I ate a good meal in the evening, though, something I usually don't do.

I walked a total of 3.7 kilometers today (down to David's place and back).
