Sunday, 12 March 2017

After another good night's sleep, I got up, ate breakfast early, and set off for my weekly blood-draw at Maccabi. Right after stepping out of the gate, I snapped a quick selfie to show off my Purim get-up, today's pic of the day:

From my blood-draw, I proceeded to the Maccabi pharmacy to pick up some over-the-counter medication and then walked back over to the Maccabi office to make all the arrangements for my next visit to the surgeon, on the 27th.

Next, I walked down the street, bought something at one of the small stores, and got a mouse for Goldfinger. Then I walked a little further, down to the bank, planning to pee there, but it was closed for Purim (unlike most places), so I walked over to the bus station instead.

I noticed, though, that that whole section of HaTmarim was completely closed and blocked by a big stage, so I wandered on down that way. Sure enough, it was the beginning of a big Purim festival, with booths selling a variety of things and sundry entertainments. I stayed for quite some time, enjoying the atmosphere, chatting with friends, eating corn on the cob and some strawberry ice cream, and taking lots of pictures, including today's bonus pic, a nice group of acrobats performing in the street:

Finally, I decided it was about time to head home, so I started walking back up, stopping to rest a couple of time along the way.

I spent the rest of the day relaxing at home except for a quick trip up to the bakery to get some more delicious oznei haman (hamentaschen). I really did NOT eat very healthily today.

I walked a total of 6.2 kilometers today.
